How coaching works

How does it start?

We can have a free call and meet first. We would discuss your current situation; explore your hopes and goals. An explainer on my coaching approach and a discussion with you on how you work may help you to begin to make a decision. An initial call will support you to begin to feel ready to take the next step and move forward.

Do I need to sign anything?

After we speak, you’ll have time to consider the coaching partnership and whether it’s right for you. If we move forward, you’ll be sent a coaching agreement to review and sign, which includes the ICF Code of Ethics, a confidentiality clause and payment policy. Any questions about this can be answered any time.

How much time do I have to invest?

The coaching programme runs from 3 - 6 months and 12 months depending on our agreement. Sessions tend to be 60-90 minutes and options for meeting tend to be weekly or monthly.

What will I need to do during the coaching?

All sessions are client led. It is a space for you to do your best thinking and be guided by various methodologies and approaches including open questions, thoughtful exercises, tailored creative activities, nature (including optional walking coaching calls) and mindfulness (e.g. breathing). This means beginning a coaching programme shows your commitment to yourself and your goals. The coaching agreement contains more information about cancellation and duration of programmes.

How does it end?

Each coaching programme ends with actions and insights that support a coachee to take their next step. We prepare for a good ending, and invite feedback and reflections. Further resources or action plans included, where needed, as well as keeping in touch or extension options.
